Student Foreign Policy Essay CONTEST RULES. 1. SPONSOR: The sponsor of the Student Foreign Policy Essay Contest is the John Quincy Adams Society. 2. ELIGIBILITY: Contest entrants must be legal residents of the fifty United States and the District of Columbia aged eighteen years or older, except where prohibited. Employees, officers, and directors of the sponsor, and its subsidiaries.Middle school students are defined as those in grades 6-8. High school students are those in grades 9-12. The deadline to submit entries for the 2020 essay contest is May 4 at midnight, Pacific Time. The maximum essay length in the Middle School Division is 500 words, and the maximum length is 1,000 words for high school entries.Essay must be submitted online or postmarked by May 28, 2020, for 11th- and 12th-graders and May 28, 2020, for 8th-, 9th- and 10th-graders, no later than 11:59 p.m., Pacific Standard Time. The Ayn Rand Institute has the right to provide contest deadline extensions when deemed appropriate.
